Fall Look Guide #1 | Chattanooga Family Photographer

It's that time again! Time for Fall family portraits! And then comes the ever daunting task of figuring out what to wear, what color scheme to use and who wears what.

Don't sweat it, I've put together several guides to help you gather ideas. Best of all, these ideas come from budget friendly stores, like Target and Old Navy.....and maybe the occasional JCPenney.

Here's some basic guidelines to keep in mind.

1. Keep prints, stripes, plaids limited to one person and coordinate everyone else to compliment the print.

2. Coordinate, don't match. Avoid having everybody wear all white shirts and khakis or jeans. Compliment each other instead of matching.

3. Accessorize and layer. Scarves, jackets, head bands, tights and hats are all great ways to add personality to your images.

4. Wear something you're comfortable in. Short skirts, for example, can make for awkward posing when sitting. Don't wear heels unless you can totally rock them in the grass and walking between locations.

5. Dress for your surroundings. This means keep formal wear to formal settings. No need for a formal dress in a hay field and no need for cowboy boots in a formal setting.

So, without further ado. Here's Fall Look #1!

Mom's dress, boots and accessories from Target.
Little girl's jacket, shirt and shoes from Target. Girl's pants from Old Navy.
Dad's and boy's outfit from Target.
